About Erica

Erica Firpo is a freelance journalist and social media strategist living in Rome, Italy.  Her work has appeared in print and digital media, and she is an ongoing contributing editor for Fathom , correspondent for Forbes Travel, BBC Travel’s Rome BBC Localite and journalist for ANSA in English. Since 2012, she hosts a travel blog on Huffington Post  as well as her personal blog Moscerina, born in 2005 as an omniscient outlook on life and what to do in Rome.  Additional publications include Wired Italia, AFAR, New York Times Travel, BBC Travel, Yahoo Travel, BrowsingItaly and Travel + Leisure, and Discovery Magazine.

Along with pen and paper, Erica combines a variety of social media platforms to create dynamic storytelling.  She has worked on social media campaigns for Unipol Banca, BMW Italia, Unicredit, Lavazza and AlmaBologna .  Her contributions as a social media influencer, can be found on  Flipside. Additionally, she provides social media consulting for organizations such as American Institute of Roman Culture, and speaks  about social media in workshops and conferences in English and Italian.
